Cram for the Exam - This class is shorter than the CPP/FPC Study Group, but will help students prepare for the exam.

Chapter Meetings - WMAC offers educational chapter meetings 6 times per year. These opportunities cover a variety of topics and generally offer 1.5 RCH credits for attendance. Additional information about each meeting can be found under "Events" on the website.


On Day Classes - WMAC offers various one day classes either on current topics of interest or information that would be of interest to someone studying for the CPP/FPC exam(s).

Virginia Statewide Payroll Conference Educational Offerings

Virginia Statewide Payroll Conference - Each year, the Virginia Statewide Payroll Conference (VSPC) holds a 2-day conference in various cities in Virginia. This conference is hosted by the seven local APA chapters in Virginia, Metro DC, and West Virginia. For 2021, the conference on October 7-8 at the Hotel Madison & Shenandoah Valley Conference Center in Harrisonburg, Virginia. American Payroll Association Offerings

APA Courses/Seminars - APA offers a variety of in-person courses/seminars throughout the year.  These courses can be taught at various locations across the U.S. and at the APA Learning Centers in San Antonio and Las Vegas. APA Virtual Courses/Seminars, Webinars, On-Demand Webinars - APA offers a variety of courses that can be taken virtually from your location. Payroll Knowledge Assessment Calculator (KAC) - The KAC allows you to assess your knowledge, evaluate and develop your staff, and screen job applicants. There are several KACs to choose from and two designed specifically for preparing for the CPP and FPC exams. For more information on the KAC, visit the KAC website.

PAYTRAIN - PayTrain programs are a smart choice for your payroll training needs. PayTrain is for experienced payroll professionals, PayTrain Fundamentals is designed for payroll beginners and service and support professionals. APA's Money Matters National Education Day (MMNED)- MMNED is designed to promote financial literacy. Payroll Professionals unite to stop the spread of financial illiteracy. APA's Payroll Congress - The Payroll Congress brings you workshops, networking opportunities, and recertification credits! For more information on the Payroll Congress, visit the Congress website.

APA's Capital Summit - Capital Summit puts attendees on the leading edge of payroll compliance. Government insiders present the latest and still-developing payroll legislative and regulatory issues that impact payroll operations. APA's Educational Institutions Payroll Conference (EIPC) - EIPC focuses on compliance and operational issues impacting payroll professionals who work in higher education. Its curriculum covers the topics that payroll professionals face in a higher education environment. For more information, click here.

APA's Payroll Leaders Conference (PLC)This conference presents next-generation training through transformational Certificate Programs. Ideal for payroll professionals in a management role and want to increase their leadership skills, or professionals who aspire to be leaders within their organization. WMAC and APA Education Grants

The Maureen (Reed) Brown Education Grant - The Maureen (Reed) Brown Education Grant was created in 2003 to honor of our Founder. This grant is modeled off of the APA Education Grants.

Each year, one lucky winner is awarded this education grant. Awarding the grant was always a highlight for Maureen. She always stressed the importance of payroll education and certification.

APA Payroll Education Grants - The Payroll Education Grants were established in 1992.

Retaining WMAC Related Certificates

Maintaining records of all your RCH credits is critical to the CPP/FPC recertification process.  If you misplace your RCH certificates from WMAC related events, it may be difficult for us to research and provide duplicates.  We will make every effort to help in replacing these documents, but cannot guarantee that we can do so in a timely manner.  For more information contact: The Education Committee at [email protected].
