A Full Day of Payroll Calculations

Have you ever struggled with trying to determine if a benefit is taxable or even what taxes to take out?  

Have you ever struggled with the various tax withholdings from someone over the age of 70 or even a deceased employee?

 Do you have trouble reading or understanding what tax table to use and how to read the various tables?  

You can learn this and so much more in the WMAC Calculations class.

When:

About our Speakers: 

Linda Dailey, CPP has been in the payroll profession for 25 years, currently working for Fairfax County Government as Payroll Compliance Supervisor. Linda received her CPP designation in the spring of 2000. Linda is involved in the Washington Metropolitan Area Chapter of the APA, and currently serves on their board as the Education Co-Chair. Linda also works with the Virginia Statewide Payroll Conference and currently serves as its Treasurer. She is also a member of the Charlestown West Virginia Chapter of the APA. In her APA National roles Linda serves on the Government Affairs Task Force Child Support and Other Garnishments Subcommittee, the Strategic Leadership Task Force Government Sector subcommittee, Certified Item Development Task Force, the FPC Certification Board and just recently joined the National Speakers Bureau. 

She taught the Payroll Professional Learning Series/Pay Train courses at George Mason University for over 8 years. Linda is very dedicated to helping payroll professional’s advance in their careers, with emphasis on helping other payroll professionals study for their CPP and FPC exam. 

Charlotte Hodges, CPP, is the Payroll Manager for Willis Towers Watson, a leading global advisory, broking and solutions company that helps clients around the world turn risk into a path for growth. She is a member of the American Payroll Association's Hotline Referral Service and serves on the Strategic Payroll Leadership Task Force Best Practices Subcommittee.  Charlotte currently serves as the Immediate Past-President of the Washington Metropolitan Area Chapter of the APA (WMAC-APA). 

Lura Woodley is a multi-disciplined professional with over 20 years of experience in Accounting, Human Resources and Payroll.  She has a solid Accounting background which started in the US Army as an Accounting Specialist and spans across the government, non-profit and private sectors.  As a Payroll Supervisor for the Washington Metro Area Transit Authority (also commonly called Metro), Lura Woodley leads a team responsible for the weekly pay of 9,000 union employees. 

Lura has been involved in payroll since 1999 after her relocation from New York City and has held positions such as Payroll Administrator, Payroll Specialist, Personnel Supervisor and Payroll Manager.  Lura is an active member of the APA’s Washington Metropolitan Area Chapter where she currently serves as the Community Outreach Chair and coordinates all their community service events.   

Lura holds a M.S. in Accounting from Strayer University and earned her CPP designation in 2009 and is also a PHR - Certified Human Resources Professional.
